Hello Friends, Many greetings !!!
We hope and trust that all is well with you !!!
Here I am with another update: A lot has happened here recently and things have been moving quite fast !!!
About 2 1/2 months months ago I successfully completed my 6 month course of chemotherapy,
after which I did a PET scan which showed that all the cancer was gone form my body at that time !!!
Everything was looking good, except for an abcess in the intestine,
which I had mentioned already in the previous update.
A couple of weeks ago I suddenly got a lump in my neck, then another and then another !!!
The doctor then sent me for an ultrasound of the neck which showed that the cancer had returned,
so we met her and discussed a new treatment plan, and then a couple of days later I had an MRI of the head.
The next morning she called and said I should go to the emergency room at the hospital and get checked in !!!
She was suddenly worried that the lymph nodes (lumps) were growing bigger so fast,
that she was concerned about my airways getting blocked and that I would not be able to breathe !!!
In the hospital they could keep a close watch on me and also perform a needed biopsy sooner
to make sure that the cancer has not mutated and that the treatments we chose would be correct !!!
Also after the biopsy she could give me medical steroids which would bring down the swelling
and give some relief before we start the new chemotherapy treatments in a few days from now !!!
They also did a CT Scan which showed that the cancer had also spread to my stomach and even further !!!
I was released from the hospital to go home yesterday afternoon, as everything seems to be moving in the right direction !!!
This sort of Lymphoma, called Mantle Cell Lymphoma, is very rare and affects about 1 in 200,000 people !!!
It is very aggressive and can have a fast recurrance, sometimes taking a few treatments for a good remission !!!
Although some people have gone 20 years in remission after their initial treatment
and some people have gone even 30 years with several treatments, according to infos on MCL support groups !!!
Hopefully this next round of treatments will do the trick and I will get a good and long remission !!!
Anyway, this is just another bump in the road, we are rolling with the punches,
and moving forward in a positive spiritual direction, as always !!!

I would rather be giving you better news but this is what is going on and so I felt I should inform you !!!
